Have you ever downloaded apps directly from the internet?

Many apps which seem reliable can be available outside of the App Store or the Android Play store, but the websites that give these applications could potentially be scams. The apps on the Google Play store and the App Store are typically reviewed by employees, so they should be more safe than apps downloaded directly from the internet.
Apple has done a great job in reducing the number of bad downloads from the internet by telling the user that internet downloads could be potentially dangerous. But, yet there are still cases of viruses and malware which are downloaded on people’s computers due to internet downloads. By downloading apps or files from shady websites, you are opening yourself up to many dangers:
Identity Theft: Some downloads may be designed to steal your personal information, such as login credentials, credit card details, and social security numbers. Cybercriminals can use this stolen information for identity theft and fraud.
Malware: Suspicious downloads often contain malware, which includes viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, and spyware. These malicious programs can harm your computer, steal sensitive information, or hold your data hostage for ransom.
Data Loss: Certain downloads might be disguised as legitimate software or updates but could cause data loss or damage to your files. Malware can corrupt your data or even erase it entirely.
System Performance Issues: Malware and other suspicious downloads can slow down your computer's performance and cause crashes or freezes.
These dangers could potentially cause a lack of privacy and even financial loss. There are many ways you could prevent these attacks. The first is not downloading files or apps from websites that are not accredited. Using various antivirus software, to make sure malware is not downloaded onto your computer. Also, regularly update your computer to make sure that you are updated on the most recent security measures.
